Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar on Wednesday said that cases on omicron variant of coronavirus are rising across the world including Pakistan.
Asad Umar, while briefing the media, said that Lahore and Karachi are the most affected cities from the new variant.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) Faisal Sultan said that the current vaccines are playing their role against the new variant and warned that unvaccinated individuals are more likely to get infected.
He advised the people to get themselves vaccinated against the disease and take the booster shot if their vaccination period has exceeded six months.
The PM’s aide said that the people should continue to observe SOPs.
