LAHORE A 32-year-old police constable of Special Branch was gunned down by three unidentified accused in Mughalpura police precincts here on Saturday evening. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Zeshan, a resident of the same locality. As per details, the deceased was on his way to home when some three accused while riding on two motorbikes intercepted him. Before Zeshan asked the reason, they opened indiscriminate fires on him resultantly he suffered multiple injuries and died on the spot, police investigators said. According to them, after killing the cop, they started to flee but one of their motorbikes could not started as a result of which they escaped on one bike. We have taken the bike into custody, from where various aspects of the case would be investigated, they added. Later, the body was removed to the City morgue for autopsy. The cop was recruited into police department in 2006. The body was handed over to the bereaved family. A case has been lodged against unknown accused with no arrest till filing of this report.
