DERA GHAZI KHAN- Newly elected JUI F MPA Sardar Meer Badshah Qaisrani was arrested and shifted to Dera Ghazi Khan Central Jail following his conviction for two years in a fake degree case on Tuesday. The convict, however, said he would file an appeal in the Lahore High Court against the judgment.
Dera Ghazi Khan District and Sessions Judge Wajahat Hussain Khan awarded two-year imprisonment and Rs Rs 5,000 fine to newly elected JUI F MPA Sardar Meer Badshah Qaisrani in the fake degree case. A heavy contingent of police was called before the announcement of the judgment. He was arrested from the courtroom and shifted to the jail. The case was registered against him on the report of Regional Election Commissioner Ghulam Rasool on February 6, 2012, by Taunsa Sharif police under sections 199, 200 and 471.
He left PML-N before the general elections, joined JUI-F and was elected an MPA for the third time.
