LAHORE - Anas and Aina Sheikh emerged as U-19 boys and girls title winners in the in the 2ndCombaxx Sports Karachi Open Squash Championship 2022 that concluded at PN Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex Karachi.
In the boys U-19 final, Anas toppled Muhammad Ali 3-1 to clinch the title in 20 minutes. Anas, a brilliant student of coach Naveed Alam, displayed high-quality squash skills and techniques and outsmarted Muhammad Ali by 11/7, 8/11, 11/5, 11/2. After winning the title, Anas said that he is grateful to his coach Naveed Alam for his able guidance and training, which has been transforming him into a national champion.
In the girls U-19 final, Aina Sheikh showed her class against Aina Aziz and overwhelmed her by 3-0 in just 12 minutes. She won the first game 11/3, faced little resistance in the second before winning it 11/9 and comfortably won the third and decisive one by 11/3.
In the boys U-13 final, Huzaifa Shahid, a brilliant student of coach Naveed Alam, displayed high-quality squash skills and techniques and took 17 minutes to outsmart Abdul Ahad 3-1 as the score was 9/11, 11/4, 11/7, 11/2. In the boys U-15 final, Abdul Basit was superb form and played outstanding squash to brush aside Zohaib with a score of 3-1. He won the first game 11/6, second 11/7, but lost the third one 9/11 before finally winning the last one 11/5 to claim the title in 18-minute clash.
In the end, Zubair Macha CEO Combaxx Sports and Lt Commander Rehmat Ullah gave away prizes to the winners and runners in the presence of Asif Azim and tournament referee Naveed Alam.
