ISLAMABAD - Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Saturday.
“During the meeting, the situation in Indian Illegally-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) including continued Indian unilateralism in IIOJK and situation along the Line of Control (LoC) were discussed,” says a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate following the meeting.
The COAS paid tribute to late Syed Ali Geelani for his historical and selfless struggle for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, according to the ISPR.
COAS assured Pakistan Army’s full support to the prime minister of AJK and commitment to the Kashmir cause and the people of Kashmir. The COAS also congratulated the AJK premier on assumption of his new appointment and expressed his best wishes for prosperity of the region of Kashmir. The prime minister appreciated the Army’s contribution towards security and development in AJK, the ISPR said.
