Ummah needs collective efforts in science, diplomacy for progress, says VC Islamia University Bahawalpur

Bahawalpur - Department of International Relations, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur conducted international webinar on ‘Academic Collaboration, Science Diplomacy and OIC: Challenges and Opportunities’ in collaboration with COMSTECH. 

The webinar was inaugurated by Eng. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur. 

He emphasised the need for collective  measures in science and diplomacy in order to regain the lost status of Muslims in the world and for progress.

Federal Secretary Dr. Arshad Mehmood in his message appreciated efforts of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and COMSTECH for arranging this webinar and emphasized need to work in more joint fields of science and diplomacy. 

He highlighted the role of academic institutions to cope up with the challenges faced by the Muslim World. He also mentioned that the collaboration among the educational institutes is the utmost need of the hour to address these challenges.

 Coordinator General COMSTECH, Prof. Dr. Iqbal Chaudhary welcomed participants on behalf of COMSTECH and shared COMSTECH’s contribution in enhancing academic collaboration among OIC member states. 

Prof. Dr. Shahid Baig, Chairman Pakistan Science Foundation mentioned issues and challenges faced by the stakeholders for conducting joint research. 

The webinar was concluded with the vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ijaz Latif, Chairman Department of International Relations, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
