Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU) finally decided a week ago to wind up the MBBS evening classes at the Chandka Medical College (CMC) it had started in defiance of the relevant rules of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) and vowed to continue with its ‘come what may’. This brought an end to the defamed chapter of SMBBMU's evening college leaving behind angry students, with all their hopes and dreams shattered, these students and their parents were betrayed, misinformed and looted. Apart from waste of time and money, the emotional toil was beyond comprehension. A strict action against the administration of SMBBMU is mandatory. Will the Vice Chancellor get away, after defaming the institute and jeopardising so many people's careers, despite repeated warnings from PMDC?
