LAHORE - Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid said here on Thursday that a master plan to beautify Lahore and make it clean and green had been prepared, and it would soon be tabled before CM Sardar Usman Buzdar.
The plan was discussed in a meeting at Chief Minister’s Secretariat. Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid, Senator Ejaz Ch, Minister for School Education Dr Murad Raas, Minister for Higher Education Raja Yasir Hamayun, and others attended the meeting.
Dr Yasmin Rashid said: “All organisations and institutions are working in collaboration to make Lahore clean and green. Key tasks have been given to WASA, PHA, LDA and LWMC.
After approval from the chief minister, steering committees and supervisory committees will be constituted.”
Senator Ejaz Ch said that the steering committees and supervisory committees would monitor the project. He said that Lahore would be made a model city.
Minister for School Education Dr Murad Raas said that the LWMC performed excellent services during Eidul Azha. He said on directions from the chief minister, parliamentarians were personally monitoring the initiative.
Minister for Local Government Mian Mehmoodur Rashid said that an improved drainage system would give relief to citizens, adding that the WASA had prepared a plan for the purpose.
Minister for Higher Education Raja Yasir Hamayun said that Lahore would be made clean and green as per vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.
