Speaker Asad Qaiser calls for taking part in tree plantation campaign

ISLAMABAD   -  Urging the whole nation to take part in plantation drive of incumbent government, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser said yesterday that Pakistan was one of the worst affected countries due to adverse impact of abrupt climate change.

He said, “Maintaining suitable and friendly environment for our future generation is our responsibility.” He expressed these views while inaugurating Monsoon Tree Plantation Drive in Swabi University. Speaker Asad Qaiser said that Billion Tsunami Tree plantation during last tenure of PTI government in KP had saved almost three and Half lac acre of agricultural land from destruction. He said that the international institutions also recognized the success of Billion Tree Tsunami Project.

He said that Swabi would be a centre of development and progress. He also mentioned that National Transmission and Despatch Company approved Award of contract for establishment of 220/132 KV Grid Station Swabi. He also mentioned that this project would not only be beneficial for local people but it would also support and provide electricity to Rashakai Economic Zone. 

He also said that farmer friendly policies of the incumbent government would bring relief to farmers across the country. He also mentioned that the producers of cash crops like tobacco should be prioritised.
