Protest held against nazim for politicising girl’s murder

MARDAN - People from different walks of life on Monday staged a protest demonstration in Gujjar Gahri against Peshawar Nazim Himayatllah Mayar for making the murder of minor girl a political issue, and claimed that the child was not sexually abused.

Members of the local jirga, residents of Gujjar Gahri village and PTI activists participated in the protest.

The protestors demanded the Chief Justice of Pakistan to reopen the grave of the child and conduct here body post-mortem again to clear the actual cause of her death.

The participants were carrying banners and placards inscribed with anti-Himayatullah slogans. A large number of local residents attended the rally.

Rally was led by Mardan chapter President Iftikhar Ali Mashwani and PTI lawmaker Sajjid Iqbal, and local jigra members.

Saifullah, an uncle of the deceased child, while speaking strongly criticised the nazim and asked him to stopped politics on his deceased nice. He added that the female who bathe the child said that the child wasn’t sexually abused and nor killed. He added that Mayar defame our family.

The father of the deceased girl, Baharm Khan, claimed that his daughter nor killed neither was sexually abused. He added that his child went to the fields located near his house where she frightened from dogs and other animals and due to fear she died. He added that people belonging to Islamabad, Peshawar and other cities are defaming his family. He requested the people to stop defaming his family and child.

Iftikhar Ali Mashwani, Sajjid Iqbal, Haji Aurangzeb, Malak Ameer Zeb, Naveed, Khattab Bacha, Shamshad, Jahanzeb and Ajmal Khan demanded the CJP to reopen the grave of the child and conducted her body post-mortem again to clear false claims of the district nazim.

They also demanded the Chief Justice of Pakistan to also conduct an inquiry against the lady doctor who conducted the post-mortem report and declared that the child was sexually abused.

They accused that the lady doctor with the connivance of someone mentioned in the post-mortem report that the child was not sexually abused while she was nor killed neither she was sexually abused. They also demanded the chief justice to take action against Mayar for defaming the deceased child and her family.

The speakers also presented criminal record of Mayar and said that in 1990’s 302 cases was registered against Mayar in Saddar police station, in 2002 two cases under section506, 324 and 7 ATA were registered against him at Sheikh Maltoon Town police station, in 2005 case was registered at City police station under section 506 against him, in 2006 case was registered against Himayat at Hoti police station under section 324 and 7 ATA and in 2017 case under section 506 and 186 at City police station.  Later on, the protesters dispersed peacefully.

It may be noted that the minor girl of Mardan was found dead in sugarcane filed after many hours of her missing.
