ISLAMABAD - PPP leader Senator Rehman Malik on Monday urged the government to move the International Criminal Court against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for human rights violations in Held Kashmir.

Addressing a gathering here on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, Malik said that Modi should be charge sheeted for allowing its forces to continue bloodshed in Held Kashmir.

He demanded of the United Nations Secretary General to take notice of human rights violations in Kashmir and refer the case to the ICC.

Senator Malik said: “I appeal from this forum to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to constitute a high-powered commission to visit Indian-Occupied Kashmir to investigate the human rights violations there”.

To express solidarity with Kashmiri people and condemn the ongoing brutalities of Indian forces, Senator Malik delivered a charge sheet to the Indian High Commission in Islamabad against Prime Minister Modi.

In his open charge sheet to Prime Minister Modi, the Senator wrote: “I am compelled to address you with a charge sheet to you and your government on your brutal actions in the Occupied Kashmir where the Indian Army under your command is killing hundreds of citizens including children and women. These extra-judicial killings have become a routine of Indian Army. The Kashmiri females are being sexually abused by the Indian security forces.”

He added: “The un-armed innocent Kashmiris are simply demanding their legitimate right of implementation of resolution of United Nations Security Council, which is being continuously ignored by you and the previous governments before you and instead of giving them their right of self-determination you are giving them bullets to silence their voices”.

Senator Malik claimed the nexus of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh with Daesh was emerging.

He claimed RSS and ISIS were operating to eliminate the Kashmiri Muslims from Occupied Kashmir to implement the larger plan of India.

He said that the persistent killing and other brutalities by successive Indian governments were continuing under Modi’s direct orders.

“Kashmiris are demanding just their right of self-determination as per the UN resolution. Common man of this whole region holds you [Narendra Modi] responsible for these violations of human rights.”

In his letter, Senator Malik said that India was violating the global treaties by not allowing the human rights bodies to access Kashmir.

He said, RSS, was an anti-Muslim organisation and they had claimed to declare India a “Hindu Rashtra” by 2019.

“You, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and your organisation, RSS, continue to be anti-Muslim, which was demonstrated by killing of thousands of Muslims in Ahmedabad, Gujrat, and in other parts of India, the demolishing of Babri Masjid and now the same is being replicated in Kashmir,” Senator Malik added.

He demanded that Modi and his government officials including Army chief Bipin Rawat should be tried under war crimes like Augusto Pinochet, President of Chile, Slobodan Milosevic, President of Republic of Yugoslavia, and Milan Martic and Milan Babic, Presidents of Republic of Serbian Krajina.

In a separate letter to Antonio Guterres, the UN Scretary General and Prince Zeid Ra’ad Al-Hussein, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Senator Malik wrote: “Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committing brutalities by killing of innocent Muslim Kashmiris including women and children, like the previous Indian governments did in the past, whereas Kashmiris are simply demanding for their legitimate right of self-determination, under the ‘resolution’, which was passed by the UNSC on April 21st, 1948.”

He added: “I call upon you to refer the matter to the International Criminal Court  against Indian Prime Minister Modi and Indian Army chief Bipin Rawat for mass murdering, genocide, mass blinding, raping and other heinous crimes against humanity in Indian Occupied Kashmir and also appoint a high-powered commission to investigate ongoing unprecedented human rights violations.”
