MEETING WITH PARENTS
OF SEVEN murded GIRLS
The CM held a meeting with parents and other family members of seven girls who were raped and killed in different areas. On the occasion, he said that he is deeply saddened over the savagery meted out to the minor girls. "The beast, who has done this inhumane acts, has been arrested and he will be given exemplary punishment under the law. It is my promise that justice will be done and strict action will be taken where some negligence has been done," he asserted.
The chief minister said that Kasur would be made part of safe city project and directives have been issued in this regard. The CM announced naming different schools of Kasur after seven murdered girls. He comforted the mother of a minor girl Kainat, pledging that she would not be left alone by the Punjab government. "I am ashamed that a grave cruelty has been meted out and had this been done with the daughter of some influential person, then I would see that how much time the police have taken for action? he questioned.
MEDIA TALK
Later on while talking to the media representatives, the CM said that modern CT scan machines are being installed in all DHQ hospitals across the province. "These machines have been installed in Kasur, Vehari, Layyah, Mianwali and Bhakkar districts while more machines are being set up in five other districts including Okara, Khushab, Bahawalpur, Sheikhupura and Attock. According to policy of the Punjab government, these machines will not be the property of the health department but these machines will be operated by the company that will install them. The CT scan of the patients will be held upon concerned doctor's receipt and this facility will be available round the clock. This system will abolish the archaic system in which patients were directed to get their CT scan done from outside by making lame excuse of machines being out-of-order.
Shehbaz Sharif said that comprehensive reforms program is underway to improve healthcare facilities in all hospitals of the province and billions of rupees are being spent to improve the quality of healthcare facilities. A network of hepatitis filter clinics is being spread to provide latest diagnostic and treatment facilities to patients suffering from lever diseases. He said that modern ultrasound machines are being provided to 700 basic health units and lady health workers are being trained to operate them. These ultrasound machines have been procured by spending millions of rupees, he claimed.
Meanwhile, 200 modern Colour Doppler ultrasound machines are being provided to rural health centres. Mobile health units are also providing best treatment facilities to the people at their doorsteps in remote areas. The chief minister informed that 54 more mobile hospitals would also be arranged by May this year. This is the revolution in the health sector which has been brought about by the PML-N government," he maintained.
The chief minister further said that Imran is apprehended, who has committed cruelty with Zainab, the daughter of the nation; adding that whole nation was saddened over this tragic incident. Due to the continued efforts of Punjab police and forensic science agency which spanned over 14 days, this beast was arrested. 1400 samples were taken for the arrest of this criminal. When forensic science agency analyzed 1108 samples, the DNA test got matched and the killer was apprehended. Aasma who has been molested in KPK, is also the daughter of the nation and the DNA samples of this case were also sent here for investigations. The killer of Aasma will also be apprehended through such efforts and the prayers of the whole nation are with the family of Aasma. He said that he has met with seven families in Kasur with the heavy heart.
Their daughters became victims of beast hood of Imran. I have begged pardon from the bereaved families and said to them that I have come to share their grief as I am deeply saddened over such painful incidents. I do not have the courage to face you all.
I could not bring back your daughters but shall ensure justice to you. The person molesting the girls has been apprehended and he will be given exemplary punishment under the law which the whole world will witness. I request to Lahore High Court and Supreme Court of Pakistan to help us for publically hanging this beast at some chowk in Kasur. He said that committee has been constituted to investigate the cruelty meted out to the girls. I request the bereaved families to appear before this committee and tell them that who helped them and who did not so that everything could be made crystal clear. I have assured to the effected families that they will be provided justice at every cost and if negligence has been proved during the course of investigations of these incidents, then strict action will be taken against the responsible persons. He announced that schools will be named after seven girls who became victim of cruelty.
To a question, the CM said that he wants to meet with other effected families but is unable to do so because of illness. To another question, he said that Punjab forensic science agency is amongst the world-class labs, which is also the biggest lab in the whole of South Asia. "We have also defeated India with this international standard lab in which cases from Scotland Yard will also be sent for analysis."
Yet to another question, he said that he is a servant to the people, which is a matter of honor for him. He said that the PML-N is the only political party which has served the masses day and night. "Despite some human frailties, PML-N has selflessly served the masses and the historic public meeting of Peshawar is a reflection of it. "I wish Imran Niazi has not wasted four-and-a-half-year time of the nation through sit-in, U-turns, and agitations. He has also misled the youth and did the politics of threats and allegations. The foul language used by him in public meetings is condemnable," Shehbaz Sharif regretted.
On the other hand, the chief minister, continued that Zardari sahib who looted public money with both hands, now, is claiming that he will bring back the looted money. "It is better for Zardari sahib to apologise to the nation and bring back the looted money," he emphasized.
Provincial Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir, spokesman for the Punjab government Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan and others officer were also present on the occasion.
