DC Rawalpindi inaugurates anti-measles camp

Rawalpindi   -   Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi Amir Aqiq Khan inaugurated the anti-measles campaign at the Vaccination Centre at Kacha Stop Westridge on Monday.

The camp will continue till July 10. A total of 185,850 children will be vaccinated against measles during the campaign, according to a spokesman.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi Amir Aqiq Khan said that anti-measles campaign has been launched in 35 high risk union councils of Rawalpindi district from where more cases of measles are being reported.  

He appealed to parents to vaccinate their children aged six months to five years against measles during the campaign to protect them from this dangerous disease.  

He said that this campaign has been launched in 44 high risk union councils of Rawalpindi and Lahore on the direction of Punjab government.
