Heirs of 21 cops recruited in Peshawar Police 

Peshawar - Peshawar police on Monday handed over appointment letters to the heirs of 21 police officers, who had either died in the line of duty or had got retired on medical grounds from the Police Department. 

SSP Operations Yasir Afridi handed over the appointment letters to the candidates hailing from Peshawar and Khyber districts, both districts are related to one region in terms of policing. SP Sadar Waqar Ahmed, SP rural Sajjad Hussain, SP City Attique Shah, SP headquarters Rahim Hussain and other officials attended the ceremony. 

A spokesman for the Peshawar police said that four of the appointees belong to Khyber while the rest hail from Peshawar. 

113 nabbed in Mardan: Meanwhile, Mardan district police arrested 113 persons including 13 proclaimed offenders and 8 abettors in various crimes during raids on Monday.

A spokesman for Mardan police said that on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Dr Zahidullah Khan, the cops conducted raids in city, Par Hoti, Toru, Sheikh Maltoon, Katlang, Chura, Rustam, Takhtbhai, Saroshah and Rustam areas. 

During the actions, 13 proclaimed offenders and 7 abettors in various criminal cases were arrested and weapons including 26, pistols, 2 Kalashnikovs, 4 shotguns, 605 bullets, and 1237 grams charas were also recovered. 

Meanwhile, 92 suspects were apprehended during checking at nakabandis for further investigations.
