Pakistan cannot progress with NAB: Shahid Khaqan Abbasi

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi stated that the rulers of the country should choose between running the government or running the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), as with NAB, the country cannot progress.

The former PM stated that the accountability bureau resorted to employing silence when there were multi-billion dollar scandals.

He went to say that the NAB chief should bring the false cases against him to an end.

“The case against me is that the LNG was not required and the plant was forcibly installed,” stated Abbasi.

He also pointed at the six day suspension of LNG supply, blaming it on the incompetency of the current government.

Abbasi further stated that owing to the LNG suspension, the country faced a great loss. He probed that “Who is responsible for this loss?”.

Pointing out the surge in electricity prices, he stated that the electricity prices rose by Rs 3 per unit right after the budget was approved.

The former PM concluded by sharing his views on elections and rigging. He went on to say that “We cannot respect those who do not respect the vote. If the elections continue to be rigged, Pakistan can not move forward”.
