Anti-polio  drive launched  in Attock

Attock-Deputy Commissioner Attock Imran Hamid Sheikh has said that anti polio campaignhas been launched in Attock with the aim to root out this crippling disease from the district. He said this while inaugurating this campaign in a remote village of Hazro. He was accompanied by CEO Health Dr Jawad Elahi, AC Hazro Shagufta Jabeen and others. The DC said that during this campaign, as many as 297783 children will be administered polio drops for which 1602 teams have been constituted. He said that this includes 1436 mobile teams, 126 fixed teams and 40 transit teams.  Meanwhile, Attock police during the last one month arrested 45 proclaimed offenders, 18 members of six car lifting gangs, gamblers, drug peddlers and others. As per the press release issued from police headquarters, police recovered 61 pistols, two revolvers, three rifles, three shotguns, 112 litre liquor, 45 kg charas, 2 kg heroin, four vehicles, Rs 412000 and four mobile phones from their possession. Cases under the acts have been registered against them and have been sent behind the bars.
