Grade I to IV, VI, VII in Islamabad govt schools will be promoted without exams

The Ministry of Education has approved to promote students of grade to IV, VI and VII studying in government schools across Islamabad, without exams.  

However, students of grade V and VIII will have to take exams in order to be promoted to the next class.  

It is pertinent to mention that the provincial education department has mentioned earlier that schools across Punjab are to be reopened from June 7. 

According to the directives given by the education department, in order to reopen, all educational institutions are supposed to have 50% students in attendance on alternate days. 

It has been further announced that no student will be allowed to attend classes for two days consecutively. 

Earlier, the educational institutions across Pakistan were to be reopened by May 24. However, the government decided to extend the closure till June 7. Schools are to be reopened  in the districts only where the COVID positivity rate was above 5%.
