A former Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) including a cop of Faisalabad, on Saturday has been accused of kidnapping and beating a trader of the locality. 

As per the details shared by police, the former MPA Arshad and ASI Waqas had kidnapped the trader while roaming in the city streets.

 “They not only hurled death threats to Umair but tortured him and took away Rs600,000 from his possession,” they said.

Moreover, the police said that ASI Waqas later filed an FIR in Sarghodha Police Station. 

“We have registered a case against the ASI and 16 others over their alleged involvement in the matter at the Ghulam Muhammad Abad police station,” they said as the trader said that the magistrate took notice of the matter and rejected the FIR against him.

Umair further alleged that the police were bent upon guarding the suspects as they had not included abduction and dacoity charges against them.

It is pertinent to be stated here, that social disturbance from misbehaviour of influential people of the town are at surge. 

In a similar incident, police in  Karachi have also arrested a youth who was said to be belonging to a political family. 

The police identified the youngster by identifying him via a viral video posted on a social media platform, as Umair Husni.

The police have confirmed the arrested person as the son of an influential tribal head of Balochistan.
