Rawalpindi- The Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Ashfaq Ahmad Khan has ordered the City Police Officer and District Police Officers to ramp up security across the region after Peshawar Imam Barge massacre, informed a police spokesman on Saturday.
According to police spokesman, Ashfaq Ahmed Khan issued directions to subordinates to beef up security at religious places, educational institutions, and public places including bus terminals Sayingan additional police force should also be deployed at sensitive installations in Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum and Chakwal.
The RPO also stressed upon the DPOs to intensify intelligence-based search and combing operations besides enhancing patrolling in all districts to flush out the suspects and anti-social elements saying no negligence on part of any police officer would be tolerated at any cost.“Rawalpindi police are fully prepared to tackle any kind of terror threat,” he said.
Meanwhile, RPO along with police high-ups also paid a visit to Pindi Cricket Stadium to review security arrangements made by the police regarding 5 days’ test match being played between Pakistan and Australia.
“Extra force of traffic wardens has also been deployed in the city and around Pindi Cricket Stadium to ease traffic flow as well as to facilitate the spectators,” the spokesman said.
