LAHORE - The Lahore College for Women University celebrated its 92nd Founders Day on Monday in Varsity’s Seminar Hall.
In this connection, Directorate of Student Affairs arranged an event that was attended by
LCWU Vice Chancellor Dr Sabiha Mansoor, Secretary Lahore College Associates (LCA), eminent alumni, faculty, staff and others.
Speaking on the occasion, the VC said, “The LCWU is moving forward with a great deal of energy to achieve its Vision 2020 and take its place as a leading women university of the world. We are confident of coping with challenges in higher education sector in 21st Century, especially academic excellence, financial sustainability and empowering of women graduates through unified strategic planning, stimulating academic programs, research and innovation, and a set of beliefs that stress integrity and tolerance necessary to make the world a better place to live in.” Dr Mansoor said that the university was providing quality education that empowers women through knowledge and skills to partake fully in the economic development of Pakistan through participation in the workforce; as well as impacts their attitudes and beliefs so as to enable them to become peaceful, tolerant and responsible citizens of the world.
She said that as an autonomous institution, LCWU had to generate its own resources to carry on and improve the quality of instruction, research work and other services. The demand for resources has increased, since Lahore College for Women became a university.
Member of LCA and guest of honor Bushra Aitzaz, in her address, congratulated the varsity administration and said that graduates of LCWU has proven their capabilities in all fields around the Globe.
