Expansion of Fesco workshop in the offing

FAISALABAD – The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company has chalked out a plan to expand Fesco Transformer Reclamation Workshop to ensure immediate repair of defective transformers, said Chief Executive Officer Iftikhar Ahmad.He said that the workshop was saving millions of rupees by repairing transformers without any delay. He said that steps are being taken to further expand its working so that the repair time could be further curtailed. He said that the Workshop was also extending its services for the repair of private transformers at reasonable rates. The CEO said that operation staff of subdivisions should also expedite efforts to control the incidents of damage of transformers. He warned that a strict action would be taken against lethargic employees. In this connection, transformer maintenance register should be maintained at all subdivisions, he said. He also issued directives to overcome the shortage of manpower in the workshop. Earlier, Additional Chief Engineer Material Management Najeed Ahmed Khan and the deputy manager workshop briefed the chief executive. and said that the TRW was established in June 2003 with a target to repair 180 transformers per month however, the staff of the workshop was repairing 200 transformers every month.They further said that the target of 3,200 transformer was given for the year 2012-13 and the workshop was saving rupees 58 million per annum. Sheikh Akhtar Hussain, the Chief Engineer Technical, was also present in the briefing.
