National Squash at Wah from 9th

WAH CANTT  - Chairman POF Trophy Men's National Squash Championship would start from September 9 at Jahangir Khan Squash Complex, Wah, carrying Rs 5 million prize money.
The 16 top players of the country had confirmed their participation, he announced during a press conference. PSF Secretary Abdul Wahab Marwat, POF Deputy Director Public Relations M Taufiq, Askari Bank representative Sher Afghan Khanzada and championship organizing secretary Col Inamullah Khan and secretary coordination Amanullah Khan were also present on the occasion.  Organizing committee President M Rizwan said, Farhan Mahboob is the top seed for the tournament and all the other top players except Aamir Atlas Khan had confirmed to take part in the event. Aamir Atlas presently contesting in a tournament in Malaysia.
The main aim to hold this event is to promote squash among the youngsters. All the players would be provided accommodation at POF hostel. The draws would be held on 8th after the arrival of all the participants. He thanked Pakistan Squash Federation for showing their keen interest and assistance for organizing the championship. Renowned international player and coach Faheem Gul will be the chief referee of the championship, Rizwan thanked sponsors.
Rizwan said they will organize such events in future too. Pre-quarterfinals will be played on opening day while quarterfinals will be played on 10th  while semi-finals on 11th and final on 12th at 04:30pm. The winner will pocket Rs 100,000 while runner-up will get Rs 70,000 and  semi-finalists will be paid Rs 45,000 each. Quarter-finalists will get Rs 27,500 each while pre-quarter-finalists will be awarded Rs 16,250 each.
