Samir squeezes into ITF Futures Tennis quarters

ISLAMABAD - Samir Iftikhar squeezed into the Serena Hotels ITF Futures Tennis Tournament quarterfinals after registering thumping victory in the pre-quarterfinals here at Senator Dilawar Abbas PTF Complex on Wednesday.

Samir Iftikahr made his mark by exhibiting some quality tennis and outclassed his German counterpart Julian Onken 6-1, 6-1. It was one of the most exciting matches of the day, where a Pakistani registered such an impressive victory. Pakistan No 1 Aqeel Khan pairing with Shahzad Khan cruised into the semi-finals by routing Fariduni Bakhodur (TJK)/Roy Hobbs (SGP) 6-1, 6-2.

Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) president Salim Saifullah Khan along with distinguished guests witnessed the matches and spent a busy day at the PTF complex. He also interacted with foreign and local players and applauded them for participating in the events and entertaining the crowd with superb display of tennis.
