Seeking open ballot in Senate elections reflects govt’s  panic: Bilawal

ISLAMABAD   -  Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the ordinance for holding Senate elections through open ballot is a proof of panic which shows that the government has distrusted its own MPAs adding that attempts are being made to make the Upper House elections controversial.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto addressing a press conference said that the government’s panic over the decision of PDM’s long march is in front of the whole country. The government has not had a serious discussion with any party, he said.
If the decision had been taken at the right time, legislation would have been passed, he added.
The government has not adopted a democratic method. The government has sent a reference to the Supreme Court alleging that the government was trying to deprive the people of their rights.
He said that the matter of holding senate elections through open ballot was suddenly brought up in the House by the committee, the PTI s attempt to rig senate elections will fail. Bilawal Bhutto said that the government s ordinance is to put pressure on the Supreme Court.

, the open ballot in the Senate is the sole prerogative of Parliament.
There are many ways to remove the government including no-confidence motion which is a democratic process to remove the Prime Minister. We are using our democratic weapon, protest, said Bilawal.
