Qureshi, Mazari call on Nawaz

LAHORE On the request of PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif, former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi met the ex-premier at the formers Raiwind residence on Wednesday. Talking to the media, PPPs estranged senior member Qureshi mentioned that the meeting was prearranged on Nawazs request. He said he discussed the current political situation with the PML-N leader. Qureshi denied he was annoyed with his party but said he had few reservations on certain issues. However, he showed his displeasure over the PPP-Q League alliance, asserting that it was illogical for the PML-Q was hand in glove with military ruler General (r) Pervez Musharraf and helped him sustain his rule and pass the contemptuous 17th amendment. Qureshi talked about the challenges being faced by Pakistan, and observed that the common man was feeling insecure in the present adverse situation. The country is facing serious economic and security issues, and it is the duty of politicians to resolve them, he asserted, adding that the government was not showing any will to solve the problems being faced by the masses. Meanwhile, ex-caretaker PM Sardar Mir Balakh Sher Mazari also called on Nawaz Sharif.
