Mush’s trial for treason inevitable: Zafarul Haq

MIRPUR (AJK)-Leader of the House in Senate Raja Zaffarul Haq said on Saturday that General (r) Pervez Musharraf will definitely be tried in the court of law for suspending the Constitution of Pakistan through his November 3, 2007 unconstitutional act, in line with the outline determined by the Supreme Court of Pakistan to this direction.He was addressing an oath-taking ceremony of the office-bearers of the Azad Jammu & Kashmir Supreme Court Bar Association. Raja administered oath to newly-elected President of AJK SCBA Raja Fazal Hussasin Rabbani, Secretary General Sardar Pervez Akhter and other office bearers.Raja, who is also Secretary-General of Moatamer-e-Alam-e-Islami,  continued that the trial against Musharraf would proceed under the decision given by the apex court of the country. He totally dispelled the impression that there was any hidden force trying to save the skin of Musharraf. Raja said, “The number of those trying to save Musharraf is much smaller. And the tiny number of such elements has no moral or legal worth in their unlawful and unconstitutional stance, he said.Fully supporting Kashmiris legitimate right to self-determination, he said that the immediate grant of the right to self-determination of the people of Jammu & Kashmir is the only democratic solution to Kashmir issue on everlasting and durable grounds. He said that the people of Jammu & Kashmir be granted their legitimate right to self-determination.The leader of the house in Senate advised the legal fraternity of AJK especially the officials of the AJK Supreme Court Bar Association to move for lobbying to muster the support of the bar associations and world-fame legal experts in the foreign countries including Europe for the grant of the much-awaited right of self determination to the people of Jammu & Kashmir. In this connection, he referred to the article-2 of the UN charter authored in 1945 which spoke of the promotion and protection of the right of self-determination of the people across the globe.Referring to the internal situation of the country, Raja said that the popularly-elected democratic government of PML-N was initiating an all-out effort to improve the internal situation of the country. The incumbent regime was taking every possible stringent measure to frustrate the nefarious designs of internal and external forces on permanent grounds. He said that it was tragic that the blood of innocent people was being shed in Balochistan and Karachi. He said that the federal government would fulfill all of its responsibilities to help restore complete peace and order in the strife-torn Balochistan and Karachi.Talking to the media, he said that bilateral cooperation and positive response by both India and Pakistan was primarily necessary for reaching to the tension-free relations between the two countries.He said that no doubt the government intended to have good neighbourly relations with the countries including India. “But two-way traffic is primarily imperative for the normalisation of relations with India,” he emphatically said.The PML-N leader said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif intended to adopt such a comprehensive way which could lead to normalisation of relations with India through the peaceful settlement of Kashmir and other issues. He continued that India should should positively respond to Pakistan’s peace-loving approach to avert further tension by taking care of the common interests in the region.He said that Pakistan was always seeking for early peaceful settlement of the Kashmir problem and wanted to resume the peace process with India from very that position it was abandoned due to the military coup of October 12, 1999.He said, “Primarily, we will have to secure our basic national interests – while moving for the sincere efforts for normalisation of relations with India.”Reiterating full solidarity with the people of occupied Jammu & Kashmir in their struggle for freedom on behalf of the people and the government of Pakistan, Raja said that the people and the government of Pakistan highly respect the supreme sacrifices being given by our freedom-loving brethren of occupied Jammu and Kashmir in their liberation movement against the Indian rule. Paying rich tributes to the Kashmiris struggle for freedom, he added that their sacrifices will not go in vain. Applauding the state of Jammu & Kashmir for being enriched with the high talent in all fields of life, Raja Zaffarul Haq said that the AJK state is blessed with high talent in the legal field. In this connection he referred to the seasoned national and world fame jurists hailing from Azad Jammu & Kashmir including former chief justice Sardar Muhammad Iqbal of Lahore High Court, former President of Pakistan Supreme Court Bar Association Muhammad Yaseen Azad, retired judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan Raja Afrasaab khan and retired chief justice AJK High Court Justice Abdul Majeed Mallick who established their name in the legal field because of their high professional intellect and skills.Speaking as chief guest at the launching ceremony of a book entitled “Inglistan Main Meirey Shabo-o-Roze”, authored by an overseas Kashmiri Raja Muhammad Shabir Khan Advocate, hailing from Mirpur division, Raja Zaffarul Haq called upon the Pakistani and Kashmiri expatriates to perform their due role for raising the image of Pakistan.Raja praised the author for  projecting Pakistan and Kashmir cause in true perspective through his high intellect and pen. He said that the author neither forget Pakistan, nor Kashmir and the Kashmir issue during the entire passage of his life during stay in United Kingdom. “The author has tried to express his spirit in the book that how Kashmir issue could be resolved without further delay and how the internal situation of Pakistan could return to normal,” he observed.He said that the just and principled stands of Pakistan on various global and national issues including the core issue of Kashmir, should be projected abroad by the overseas Pakistanis and Kashmiris side by side the government to apprise the external world of the true picture of the sincere and peace-loving approach of the country at the broader level.He said that India was holding a major part of Jammu & Kashmir state in her forcible and illegal occupation despite her wrong stance on Kashmir issue. He said that at the same time, New Delhi was endeavoring to prove her wrong and unjustified stance on Kashmir as truthful. He said that no doubt Pakistani and Kashmiri expatriates were performing due role abroad to raise the Kashmir cause especially the importance of early peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue, yet they will have to lend more concerted efforts to highlight the conflict through the best of their abilities and national spirit. The seasoned Senator said that although our great leaders including father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam and the poet of East Allama Muhammad Iqbal got their higher studies abroad for a long time – but they did not accept the impacts of these countries. Rather they returned home after completing their studies and struggled hard for the accomplishment and safeguard of the rights of their nation.
