A man identified as Usman Mirza was arrested by the Islamabad police late Tuesday after a video of a couple being harassed and assaulted went viral on social media.
In the disturbing video, Mirza can be seen violently thrashing and harassing the young couple in a room full of other men. Old videos showing the accused's weapons have also come to light.
A video of Mirza assaulting and getting violent against a young couple became a trend on Pakistani Twitter with #ArrestUsmanMirza.
Islamabad police immediately utilized all resources to arrest the accused Usman Mirza in a few hours, registered the FIR, and initiated legal action,” Islamabad police said on Twitter.

Within a few hours of the video going viral, the Islamabad police took Mirza into custody and registered an FIR in the case.
Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat also confirmed the arrest of the accused. He requested social media users to refrain from sharing the disturbing video and to delete it.

Usman Mirza is the co-owner of Autoland in Islamabad, a showroom that deals with new and used cars, real estate, and rent-a-car.
