A policeman embraced martyrdom and four other cops injured when a blast ripped through a police picket in Mardan on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

A large contingent of police arrived at the blast site where police personnel were trying  to figure out the nature of the blast.

Rescue ambulances and medical teams rushed to the site to help the injured.

A bomb disposal squad also arrived at the blast site to carry out an inspection.
