17 new Covid cases reported in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD   -  The total active COVID-19 cases in Faisalabad have reached 619, while 17 more people tested positive for the deadly virus during the last 24 hours.

 A spokesperson for Health Department said that 849 coronavirus tests were conducted in public and private sector laboratories during the said period.  He said that 19,723 people had so far recovered from the disease in the district. 

He further said that 339 beds were allocated at the Allied Hospital, 133 at the DHQ Hospital and 150 at Government General Hospital Ghulam Muhammad Abad for COVID-19 patients. 

At present, 104 patients were under treatment at the Allied Hospital, 46 at DHQ Hospital and 25 were admitted to General Hospital. He further said that 299 confirmed patients were isolated at their homes in the district.

15 more vaccination centers established in Faisalabad

The Health department has established 15 more COVID-19 vaccination centers in district Faisalabad to facilitate maximum people.

District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Ataul Mun’im said that 19 vaccination centers were already functional in Faisalabad while establishment of 15 more centers had increase their number up to 34 in the district.  He said that new vaccination centers were established in Rural Health Centers (RHCs) and each center will have the capacity to vaccinate 250 persons daily against coronavirus.

These centers were established in Rural Health Center (RHC) Dijkot, RHC Mureedwala Sammundri, RHC Chak No.174-JB Sammundri, RHC Chak No.134-JB Sammundri, RHC Chak No.229-RB Jaranwala, RHC Chak No.65-GB Jaranwala, RHC Sitiana, RHC Lundianwala, RCH Khurarianwala, RCH Pindi Sheikh Musa, RHC Kanjwani, RHC Mamonkanjan, RCH Chak No.400-GB, RHC Chak No.153-RB Chak Jhumra, RHC Chak No.374-GB and RHC Chak No.496-GB Sammundri, he added.

324,301 persons vaccinated against corona

As many as 324,301 people have so far been vaccinated against COVID-19 in Faisalabad district. 

District Health Officer Dr. Ataul Mun’im said on Sunday that 238,021 citizens had been given the first dose while 55,396 were administered second dose of vaccine. 

He said that 18,394 health workers were also given first dose while 12,490 received second dose of vaccine. He said that 19 vaccination centers were operational in Faisalabad where registered persons were also getting anti-coronavirus vaccine doses. 

He said that sufficient stock of anti-coronavirus vaccine was available in the district. As of now, 56,731 first doses and 37821 second doses of vaccine were in the stock at Faisalabad, he added.
