KHAIRPUR - Another minor girl was raped within the jurisdiction of B-section police station in Khairpur on Saturday.
According to police, unknown accused kidnapped an eight-year girl Hinna Abbasi, daughter of Sajjad Hussain Abbasi, from Sarki Mohalla of the city and raped her. On hue and cry of the girl, the accused managed to flee to unknown destination.
The residents of the area rushed to scene and shifted the girl to Civil Hospital Khairpur in critical condition, where a lady doctor confirmed that the girl had been raped. The B-section police was raiding different areas to arrest the culprit.
Father commits suicide after kidnapped girl

In a shock, a father committed suicide after his kidnapped daughter returned home in Pirjo Goth on Saturday.
According to detail, a young girl, Urooj Khaskheli, was kidnapped from Kaleri Mohalla in Pirjo Goth five days ago. The police in a raid recovered the girl and handed over to her parents. When she reached home, her father Jameel Ahmed Khaskheli in a shock hanged himself to death from a ceiling fan and died on the spot. The police shifted his body to Pirjo Goth Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Environment advisor visits tree plantation site
Advisor to CM Sindh on Environment, Climate Change, and Coastal Development, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, visited mangroves plantation site on Saturday.
Secretary Environment Muhammad Aslam Ghauri and Director General (DG) Sindh Environmental Protection Agency Naeem Ahmed Mughal were also with him. Speaking on the occasion, the adviser said that the provincial environment department had planted mangroves along the coastal strip of Thatta district in collaboration with the private sector. Hundreds of mangroves had been planted on Zephyr Wind Farm, he said and added that the planting of mangroves was one of the top priorities of the Sindh government.
He said: “The presence of a large number of mangroves in coastal areas is important in maintaining the natural marine environment. Mangroves protect the coast from the high waves of the sea and are eco-friendly, so their protection is the responsibility of all of us.” On this occasion, he also planted mangroves.
