Peshawar - Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Abbas Ahsan on Saturday said that since assuming charge, he had started a policy of merit for transfers and posting.
Speaking at a police darbar at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines, he said that all resources were being used to solve the problems of cops in the provincial capital.
“We will uphold merit in appointments and promotion cases but the cops are required to perform their job to eliminate crimes,” he said.
He said that Peshawar police were a resilient force as they faced the brunt of the war on terror.
and suffered suicide attacks during the days of militancy.
He also asked the SHOs to keep their police stations clean and also ensure use of jacket and helmets during duty time.
He warned against corruption and said that honest officers would be rewarded while the corruption ones would be administered punishment.
He also said that recently, cameras were installed in the police stations of Peshawar with an aim to ensure monitoring and to improve performance of the cops.
On the occasion, the cops highlighted various issues being faced by them.
