Government Officer's Residence (GOR-1) has been in the news lately. Now there is talk of opening an IT University here. The Naval Defence College is also located there. The best use of this area is to convert it into Punjab Govt. Office Complex. All offices should be located here for the convenience of the public and better co-ordination. Providing residence to employees is a colonial tradition and should be discontinued so that the served and the servants could live side by side.
