THQ hospital ambulances out of order for decade

SIALKOT-The only two ambulances of Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Pasrur are out of order for a decade due to which the patients and their attendants have to suffer great ordeal.
Thus, the people have to get private ambulances on inflated fares or use the other options including auto rickshaw for bringing the patients to the hospital in even critical condition. The hospital caters to over one million people of Pasrur tehsil.
Pasrur city falls into the electoral constituency (NA-114) of Zahid Hamid, the federal minister for law and climate change. According to the hospital management, the old ambulance (X-67) was out of order for the last one decade and the second ambulance (STJ-3779) for the last one month.
Both the ambulances have been lying unattended in the courtyard of the THQ Civil Hospital, as the hospital management has claimed to have no funds for the repairing and rectification of these ambulances. Pasrur Citizens Welfare Council President Pervaiz Bajwa, Mehmood Butt, Mian Muhammad Khalid, Bablu Butt and local social, religious, health and political circles of Pasrur have expressed grave concern over the situation. They urged Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif to look into the matter in the public interest.
When contacted, EDO (Health) Dr Javaid Warraich admitted that both the ambulances are out of order. He said that the Punjab government had released Rs40 million grant for the up-gradation of the hospital. He said that a new ambulance would soon be provided to the hospital.
