Lahore - Director General Operations Nawa-i-Waqt Media Group Lieutenant Col (Retd) Syed Ahmad Nadeem Qadri met the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Nong Rong at the Chinese Embassy yesterday and discussed with him bilateral issues.
He briefed about the articles being written on the Belt and Road Initiative continuously for the last two and a half years in Nawa-i-Waqt. He also informed about the recent launch of Nawa-i-Waqt and The Nation from Quetta and especially Gwadar.
He said that it was need of the hour for more cooperation between media groups of the two countries. Col. Qadri applauded the Chinese President XI Jinping's Global vision on Belt and Road which will benefit most of the world's population. He praised President XI's programme to lift 800 million people out of poverty in China.
Col Qadri stressed the need for China, Pakistan, Russia and Iran to play their vital part in filling the gap after the rapidly changing situation in the region following the withdrawal of NATO forces from Afghanistan."Peace in Afghanistan and establishment of a stable government will allow Afghanistan and the Central Asian states to reap benefits of CPEC," he said.
Welcoming Lieutenant Col (Retd) Syed Ahmad Nadeem Qadri, the Chinese Ambassador said that the role played by Nawa-i-Waqt Media Group in promoting Belt and Road Initiatives under the leadership of Rameeza Majid Nizami was commendable. He also delved deeply into the articles written on BRI in the last two and a half years and appreciated the endeavor of Nawa-i-Waqt. He reiterated for the publication of these articles in book form and offered his collaboration in this regard.
The Chinese Ambassador termed the decision of launching Daily The Nation and Daily Nawa-i-Waqt from Gwadar a far-sighted decision of Rameeza Majid Nizami and said that it would help people of the Gwadar region to be aware of the CPEC programmes and to curb negative propaganda about CPEC.
They agreed on a proposal to increase collaboration between the Nawa-i-Waqt Group and the Chinese media. The Chinese Ambassador said that in the changing situation in the region, China was ready to play a constructive role with cooperation of Russia, Afghanistan's neighbors Pakistan and Iran. China will fully support reformation of Afghanistan.
Neighbouring counties of Afghanistan, in collaboration with Pakistan and Iran, are ready to play their positive role. China will extend its full support in reconstruction of Afghanistan. The Chinese Ambassador further added that his country will continue to provide Pakistan Covid-19 vaccine in an intensive way and heavy supply of vaccine will reach Pakistan soon. The Chinese Ambassador conveyed to Director General Operations in detail about the development projects going on in Gwadar.
Mr. Wang Shengjie, First Secretary of the Embassy and Ms. Dong Wenli, In-charge Media were also present on this occasion.
