LHC orders release of two convicts in murder charges

Rawalpindi   -  A divisional bench of Lahore High Court has dropped murder charges against two men and ordered their release here on Monday.

LHC Rawalpindi Bench’s Justice Raja Shahid Mehmood Abbasi and Justice Abdul Aziz have acquitted two convicted men namely Muhammad Farhan and Muhammad Kamran in the murder case of their sister Shabana Pervin. Taxila police had arrested the duo on December 11, 2018 after filing a case against them on complaint of Muhammad Imran who accused them of clubbing their sister Shabana to death on suspicion of doing black magic against them. An additional district and sessions judge had convicted the accused on February 26, 2019 in the murder case. In another case, Judicial Magistrate Iram Naseer had granted three days extension in physical remand of an administrator of a seminary facing rape charges. 

The court ordered police to reproduce the accused Mufti Shahnawaz on September 9, 2021.
