Karachi - Star all-rounder Shahid Afridi has been issued a show cause notice by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for speaking to the media without permission following the team's return from Bangladesh after the national team's participation in the World T-20. PCB has also summoned a reply from Afridi over discussing the matter of national team's captaincy with the journalists.

Former cricketers Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammed Yousaf had earlier criticised Afridi over his informal press conference. PCB chairman Najam Sethi had responded to Afridi's comments by saying that he would take action depending on whether or not the Pakistan all-rounder had sought the cricket board's permission before speaking to the media.
