Police recover drugs, valuables in crackdown against criminal elements

ISLAMABAD      -     Police during a massive crackdown against criminal elements have arrested five accused from different areas of the city and recovered drugs, mobile phones, motorbike and weapons, a police spokesman said on Thursday.


Following orders of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas a massive campaign against criminals is carried in the federal capital.


According to the details, a police team of Koral police station headed by SHO Koral Muhammad Azeem Minhas along with other officials arrested two accused of a snatchers’ gang identified as Muhammad Saleem and Muhammad Usman.


Police team also recovered two 30-bore pistols with ammunition used in crime, one motorbike and snatched mobile phones. The accused were involved in snatching incidents in koral and adjacent areas.


Furthermore, a CIA police team consisting of SI Turab Ul Hassan, ASI Mohsin Ali and other officials arrested a drug dealer namely Sher Ali Khan, a resident of Quetta and recovered 1042 grams of Ice. The accused was involved in drug peddling in areas of Sabzi Mandi and Rawalpindi.


Likewise, Secretariat police recovered one Kalashnikov with ammunition on pointation of an arrested accused namely Raees Khan who was involved in a murder case. Noon police team also recovered one 9mm pistol from an accused named Arshad Mehmood during snap-checking.


Cases against all the nominated accused have been registered and further investigation is underway.


IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas issued directives to all the zonal officers to intensify security in their relevant areas.
