4 persons killed in road traffic incident in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi-As many as four people were killed and four sustained critical injuries near Bagga Sheikhan Stop on Saturday after a speeding passenger van crashed into another truck parked along the road, informed Rescue 1122 spokesman.
Among victims, two were female school teachers and a four-year-old child, he added.
All the victims including bodies were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Rawalpindi by the rescuers, he said.
According to him, a van carrying teachers of a school hit a truck parked alongside road near Bagga Sheikhan Stop. Resultantly, two female teachers, a kid and the driver were killed while four others teachers suffered multiple injuries, he said adding that locals alerted Rescue 1122 which rushed to the scene and conducted rescue operation.
He said the dead bodies and the injured were moved to DHQ Rawalpindi for autopsy and medical treatment.
Those who died in the sadistic road traffic accident have been identified as Rizwan (34), the driver of an ill-fated passenger vehicle, Nazrana (28), Naila (30) and her son Hadi (4), he mentioned. While Qurat Ul Ain, Uqba Qadeer, Tahira Batool and Rafia were among injured, the spokesman said. Local police also visited the accident site and noted the occurrence of the accident in the daily crime register, said a police officer. The condition of other injured persons is said to be critical, he said.
