Almost 0.7 million saplings planted in Attock in a day: SAPM Amin Aslam

Attock-Almost 0.7 million saplings have been planted in a single day across Attock district. This is going to be the largest ever monsoon tree plantation ever in Pakistan as 500 million trees will be planted across Pakistan. Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam said this after planting a tree in Attock. 
On the occasion, DC Attock Imran Hamid Sheikh and other officers were also present. Malik Amin Aslam said that in Attock district 7 lac saplings have been planted on Saturday and next week we will launch the Ghazi Barotha plantation campaign. He said that DC Attock along with his team has played a vital role in mobilising all departments, students and people from across the district to make this campaign a success. He said that now the look after of these plants will be ensured as different teams will visit different areas to ensure maximum sustainability of the trees planted. Amin Aslam said target is ten billion trees which will bring a revolution in climate change and making Pakistan green and environment friendly. He said that during this monsoon campaign, 1.7 million saplings will be planted in Attock district for which a special strategy will be followed and this plantation drive will be monitored closely by different monitoring teams. He said that during next week, a large number of trees will be planted on the bank of Ghazi Barotha Power Channel and said that different private companies are making arrangements to start their own tree plantation campaign at large scale. He emphasised upon the people to make this campaign a success. Earlier, provincial ministers Syed Yawar Abbas Bukhari and Malik Muhammad Anwar, and DC Attock Imran Hamid Sheikh also planted a sapling.
