Police conduct search operation ahead of Muharram in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi-A heavy contingent of police along with personnel of other law enforcement agencies carried out a search operation to ensure law and order during Muharram, informed a police spokesman on Saturday.
The search operation was carried out in areas of Zafar ul Haq Road and suburbs (controlled by Police Station Waris Khan) following the orders of City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ahsan Younas, he said.
According to him, a heavy contingent of police, led by SDPO Waris Khan Circle Farhan Aslam, conducted a search operation in the area of Zafar Ul Haq Road. The police, assisted by Elite Force commandos, ladies’ police and IT experts of police and other LEAs checked some 110 houses and grilled 32 tenants, he said.
A total of 308 people were questioned by the police officers in the area, the spokesman said. Superintendent of Police (SP) Rawal Division Zia Uddin Ahmed said search operation was done in the area to ensure law and order during Muharam. He said the operation was conducted as per the National Action Plan.
