Lahore - Raja Muhammad Anwer President, Board of Management, Vocational Training Institutes (VTIs) Jhelum convened a high level meeting at District Zakat Office Jhelum. While addressing the participants of the meeting, he expressed his resolve to support the young lot with vocational training opportunities. Technical and Vocational Training serves as the backbone of the industrial sector in Punjab which requires specialised HR input. Our skilled workforce, technicians and engineering diploma holders perform as the real success factor in every industrial unit operational in Jhelum. The precision and dedication of this workforce has strengthened the industrial sector in Jhelum and funding them would always be the best investment we could ever make for the sector, he added. In the board meeting, a cheque amounting Rs11 million for the scholarship opportunities (Technical) was also given for funding vocational training of 472 students in fiscal year 2020-2021. These scholarships shall be given on merit without any gender discrimination. Male and female students both shall be able to avail this opportunity. Role of women technicians is as crucial and important as their male counterparts and women in the industrial sector are equally superior. That’s why this scholarship reflects equal representation, Raja added.
