Two bodies found, minor girl dies in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD   -  The police recovered two bodies in different parts of Faisalabad during the past 24 hours. Police said here on Friday that some passersby witnessed corpse of a young man lying at a deserted place in Mohallah Usman Ghani and informed Ghulam Muhammad Abad police. The team reached the spot, took the body into custody and dispatched to the mortuary for postmortem. The body was identified as Muhammad Iqbal, son of Sarwar, resident of Chak No.100-JB and he was missing from his house about one week ago. Meanwhile, the police also found body of an aged man from Zulfiqar colony and dispatched it to mortuary. Police registered separate cases and started investigation. In another incident, a minor girl was killed while playing at rail track in the area of Samanabad police station. Police said here on Friday that 5-year-old Nabia, daughter of Majid Ali, resident of housing society, was playing on railway track near Samanabad graveyard when a running train hit her severely. As a result, the victim received critical injuries and died on the spot. The police handed over the body to her relatives for burial after completing legal-medico formalities.

Oil depot gutted

An oil depot caught fire and burnt precious material in the area of Millat Town police station.  Police said on Friday that Faisal Rafiq, resident of D-Type colony, was running an illegal oil depot in oil-tanker’s parking area at Jhumra Road near Chak No.203-RB Gatti which caught fire due to unknown reasons. The fire engulfed the entire surroundings and burnt precious items including 5 motorcycles and a large quantity of oil. On getting information, firefighters of Rescue 1122 reached the spot and brought the fire under control after hectic efforts. However, no loss of life was reported in this incident. The police registered a case against depot owner Faisal Rafiq and started investigation for his arrest.

27 shops, restaurants sealed

The tehsil administration Jarranwala sealed 27 shops including restaurants over corona SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) violations on Friday. Assistant Commissioner Zain-ul-Abideen checked implementation of the SOPs in tehsil and registered cases against seven shopkeepers and arrested 60 others for not wearing face-masks.

Three XENs transferred

The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) issued orders for transfer and posting of three executive engineers (XENs) on Friday. According to a notification, XEN Operation FESCO Chiniot division Mureed Hussain has been posted as XEN M&T Jhang circle, XEN M&T Jhang circle Rao Muhammad Ali has been posted as technical officer 2nd circle and technical officer Ali Waqar Warraich has been posted XEN Operations Chiniot division.

Smuggling foiled, 200 bags wheat seized

A bid to smuggle 200 bags of wheat to other districts was foiled by Food department here on Friday. A spokesman of food department said that Inspector Food Grain Nazeer Ahmad conducted raid near Chak No.24-JB Lahorian and seized 200 bags of wheat loaded on tractor trolley. The team arrested tractor driver Abdul Lateef who confessed that he was smuggling these bags to other districts from Faisalabad. The food inspector shifted the wheat bags to wheat procurement center, while the accused and his vehicle were handed over to Sahianwala police who started investigation after registering a case.
