ISLAMABAD - Terming the year 2016 liberation of Held Kashmir, Ameer Jamaat-i-Islami Pakistan Senator Sirajul Haq has said that people of Kashmir will soon break the shackles of Indian yoke because with all its might and brutalities Indian forces have failed to suppress the voice of Kashmiris.
Jamaat-i-Islami Pakistan had organised a big public rally yesterday in the outskirts of Islamabad on the appeal of veteran Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani to establish that people of Occupied Kashmir wanted freedom and no one could deny the Kashmiris their right to self-determination pledged to them under the UN resolutions.
The appeal of protests from chief of Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani and other Kashmiri leaders including Yasin Malik and Shabbir Shah came when all of them were detained, some of them put under house-arrest, on the eve of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Srinagar, so that the international community could see for themselves what the self-proclaimed largest democracy of the world was doing with its people.
The participants of the rally raised slogans in support of the Kashmiris’ right for freedom and also formed a human chain on the appeal of Syed Ali Geelani, to express their complete solidarity with their Kashmiri brethren.
Siraj demanded of the United Nations and international community to take notice of the blatant human rights violations and genocide of Kashmiri nation and come forward and help get them their right to self-determination.
He also asked Pakistani government to extend political, moral and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris and build world opinion in favour of the people facing unprecedented rights violations at the hands of Indian occupation forces for past several decades.
He said that Indian occupation forces were perpetrating untold crimes in Occupied Kashmir but the world respond was not enough. Indian Prime Minister Modi, the leader of the so-called world’s largest democracy, was promoting fascism as hatred for the Muslims, Christians and other minorities even the low-caste Hindus was increasing.
In this way, he said, the Indian government had itself created an atmosphere of the creation of another Pakistan in their country. He said the year 2016 would be the year of the liberation of Kashmir.
Siraj said the Quaid-e-Azam had declared Kashmir as jugular vein of Pakistan and the people of Pakistan could not allow India to control it.
Earlier, the JI chief addressing the 42nd general council of the JI Azad Jammu and Kashmir, said the Kashmiris had once again proved that they did not want to live with India.
Speaking on the occasion, JI Azad Kashmir chief Abdur Rashid Turabi, vowed to step up campaign against the prevailing oppressive system. He urged the JI workers to continue their struggle against the prevailing system of exploitation and oppression.
