PTI dubs 'Jewish funding' a propaganda against party

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and MNA Dr Arif Alvi said today that the allegation of Jewish funding for the party was nothing but a mere propaganda.
In a statement issued today, Dr Alvi said that the PTI was registered abroad under the US FARA laws and every penny that comes to Pakistan was through legal channels unlike the ‘hundi’ and other illegal transactions as was done by Sharif brothers and other corrupt politicians a decades ago. “The party has taken extreme care to follow all laws within Pakistan and in countries where our Diasporas live,” he said.
He said that a payment made in New York was falsely presented as a funding from a Jewish donor and the payment was made by cheque by a US-Pakistani national named Asif Chaudhry working for Barry C Schneps, a law firm, since 2000. He said that Chaudhry bought four tickets for a fund-raiser table when Imran Khan visited the US in 2012. “If needed, his letter shall be submitted to the ECP also,” he maintained.
