Kanwal Shauzab lauds teaching, research activities at Islamia University Bahawalpur

Rs4 billion sanctioned for establishing new academic blocks and other development works

Bahawalpur - Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Planning and Development Kanwal Shauzab  has said that the ongoing teaching, research and development activities at Islamia University Bahawalpur are commendable. The Federal Government will extend full support to development and expansion of the University. 

She said that in view of the extraordinary increase in the number of male and female students, funds of Rs. 4 billion were being sanctioned for establishing new academic blocks and other development works. Federal Parliamentary Secretary Kanwal Shauzab expressed these views during a meeting with Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob Vice Chancellor in Islamabad. 

She said that rapid steps are being taken for the establishment of Ahmadpur East Campus of Islamia University Bahawalpur. On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor informed her about the establishment of a nursing school. 

The Parliamentary Secretary welcomed the establishment of the School of Nursing and said that in view of globalization, language courses are very important for students so that they can easily find employment in other countries. The Vice Chancellor informed that another bus has been added to the ongoing bus service for Ahmadpur East which has been allotted for female students.

Meanwhile, an International Conference on the Impact of Modern Mathematics was organized by the Department of Mathematics at Islamia University, Bahawalpur. 

Vice Chancellor Government Sadiq College Women’s University Bahawalpur Prof. Dr. Saiqa Imtiaz Asif, Pro Vice Chancellor the Islamia University Bahawalpur Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf and Chairman Mathematics and Focal Person Prof. Dr. Ghulam Mustafa addressed the inaugural session of the conference which was held hybrid and online. 

In his message on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Athar Mehboob Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur said that it is very important to hold a conference on the topic in which scientists, researchers and scholars will benefit teachers and students with their knowledge and experience.

The conference will be instrumental in innovative comparative studies between mathematics and other disciplines and the latest developments in these disciplines, practical difficulties and their solutions, he said.

The articles presented at the conference will help to better understand the subject of mathematics in a more holistic way and will pave the way for new solutions to related problems. 

On the occasion, Focal Person Prof. Dr. Ghulam Mustafa said that the conference is attended by scholars from Turkey, US, Estonia, China and Pakistani universities.
