Lust of power, money of few people destroying Pak football: Faisal

LAHORE    -   Former Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Faisal Saleh Hayat believes that the lust of power and money of few people have put future of thousands of Pakistani footballers at stake. Talking to Nawa-i-Waqt, Faisal, who is also AFC Vice President, said: “Ashfaq Hussain, Zahir Shah, Hamza Khan and Haroon Malik were among those, who, just for the vested interests, destroyed Pakistan football as well as future of so many talented footballers in the country. Their illegal decisions and acts also compel FIFA to suspend Pakistan Football Federation.” He added the FIFA should take stern action against such corrupt elements, and given them exemplary punishments so that no one may dare to even think about doing such things. “I am very disappointed and disheartened with the suspension of Pakistan football and if the right steps aren’t taken and right persons aren’t handed over the PFF, Pakistan football will further suffer at the hands of such corrupt, incompetent and biased officials, who have no interests in football and footballers rather in minting money and enjoy perks and privileges,” Faisal concluded.
