MARDAN   -   The district administration has imposed Section 144 in Mardan for the next 14 days and banned operation of CNG stations in Mardan district.  

According to a notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Habibullah Arif, the regional manager SNGPL Mardan region wrote a letter to the DC that SNGPL is facing acute shortage of gas due to the huge gap between demand and supply.   

The SNGPL requested to impose a complete ban on operations of CNG stations up to January 20, 2022 to fulfil domestic gas demand. The DC has imposed section 144 CrPC and banned operation on CNG station till 20 January 2022.   

The district administration also said that if someone found violating the law, strict legal action would be taken against him/her under section 188 of the PPC.
