PP enjoys simple majority to form govt in Azad Kashmir

ISLAMABAD - The leadership of Pakistan Peoples Party, Azad Jammu Kashmir chapter, has announced that the PPP has simple majority to establish future AJK government devoid of having alliance with any political party. PPP-AJK President Ch Abdul Majeed, Vice President Ch Muhammad Yasin, General Secretary Ch Latif Akbar and Barrister Sultan Mehmood said this at a joint press conference here on Friday. Ch Abdul Majeed said the PPP leadership decided to withdraw its candidate Ch Abdul Razzaq from LA-6 Samhani. He said in this constituency the total number of polling stations was 82 however due to a clash the election commission had suspended polling on 52 stations, which had been scheduled on July 11. The PPP will support Ali Shan Sohni, an independent candidate who after having the seat will join PPP, he added. Ch Abdul Razzaq announced his withdrawal on the occasion and assured his full support to Ali Shan on 52 polling stations. He said he respected the party leaderships decision and voluntarily withdrew in the favour of Ali Shan.
