NEW YORK: Jon Voight has praised his daughter Angelina Jolie for publicly disclosing that she has had a double mastectomy. The Salt actress announced in May that she had undergone the surgery after learning that she carried the cancer-linked BRCA1 gene. Voight opened up about his daughter Jolie’s decision to go public with her double mastectomy in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “She’s a very brave person and I love her deeply. I’m always going to be at her side,” Voight commented. “She handles herself very well. She says what she wants to say now.”–DS
