Parvez Elahi says officer not listening to anyone | Using delaying tactics in allocating land for Rscue 1122

LAHORE - Punjab Assembly Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi has summoned Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad to his chamber on Tuesday (today) for not taking his (chair’s) phone call.

Chairing PA session on Monday, he said that DC Mohammad Ali was not listening even to Minister for Prosecution Ch Zaheerud Din.

Visibly perturbed PA Speaker said that the Faisalabad DC was using delaying tactics in allocating land for Rescue-1122 Station. He said that the DC was not listening to anyone, telling lies by saying that he was in a meeting, although he was at his residence.

He said that a Rescue 1122 station would be built in Faisalabad at an estimated cost Rs100 million. He said that the officer was not fulfilling the responsibility of allocating land. He said that the agency’s director-general wrote to the DC in this respect but without any positive response.

“I personally contacted the said officer on cell phone. Gunman, who picked the phone, said that the DC was in a meeting. He (DC) was at his residence at that time,” the chair informed the House, adding, he had summoned both the Faisalabad DC and Rescue 1122 in-charge Ehtesham to appear on Tuesday (today).

PML-N legislator Khalil Tahir Sandhu said that it was a pitty that a BPS-18 officer was not taking call of the custodian of PA who had previously served as Deputy Prime Minister and chief executive of the biggest federating unit.

Law Minister Raja Basharat laid audit reports for the year 2020-21 of Irrigation, Communication & Works, Urban Development, Public Health Engineering, Local Government, Energy and other departments.

Earlier, PML-N’s newly elected MPA from Wazirabad Talat Mehmmod Shaukat took oath. On completion of agenda, the chair adjourned the session till Tuesday (todat) at 2pm.
